AWR1642BOOST: AR_OSC_CLKOUT measurement

ALL,

I have a AWR1642BOOST EVM. There is a J2 connector on the board, which is used as reference clock output from clocking sub system after cleanup PLL (1.8V output voltage swing). However, I can't see the reference 40MHz clock signal on this connector when I power up the board.

How can I be able to measure this 40MHz clock?

Hello,
If you are using the Radar Studio tool there is a "RegOp" tab there is debug signal option. These are the signals that can be brought out on OSC_CLKOUT for debug purpose. Once you 'set' that the corresponding signal will be available on the pin. By default nothing is brought out on this pin in a single chip configuration.

I suppose the OSC_CLKOUT is 40MHz frequency. How can I change firmware to make it available if I make my own board?

Hello,
The frequency depends on the signal you bring out this debug pin. The synth is either a 2.5/5Ghz signal , APLL is a 1.8Ghz signal and reference clock is 40Mhz signal. This can be done using Radar Studio tool which is available in the DFP package.
