Ideal temperature sensor/probe for measuring dental temperature

Hi,

I am constructing a dental temperature sensor as part of my research (Prototype). I was thinking of using a raspberry pi to record the readings.

Application: Measure temperature of teeth and jaws

Temperature range: 0-100 C

Accuracy: 0.1-0.5 C

Sensitivity: ~0.1 C

Can anyone kindly suggest me a temperature sensor?

Do you recommend an analog or a digital sensor?

Hello,
Please start with the Temp ICs FAQs post , with link below. If cost is not a problem the most elegant solution (NO ADC and Voltage to temp calculation inside the MCU ) is a Digital temp sensor that uses an I2C port. TMP112 and TMP116 are recommended parts with the later the most accurate one.

I would recommend digital sensors since the system accuracy is guaranteed. TMP116 is a good place to start. It's has +/-0.25C error over your operating range. This comes in a small WSON (6-pin) package.

You should also look at LMT01. It only requires 2 wires. TMP107 requires 3 wires. Also search for TI documents relating to measuring body/skin temperature for further guidance.
