TDC1000 - GAS EVM source code available?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDC1000, TDC7200, LM2733

Hi ,

I needed the source code for TDC1000 - GAS EVM for comparing with the source code for TDC1000 - TDC7200 EVM code. Also, i just wanted to know the hardware changes needed for water flow measurement using the TDC1000 - GAS evm  + BST evm.

please help.

thanks,

Vinu

  • Vinu,

The firmware source code of the TDC1000GAS EVM and TDC1000-7200EVM is the same. If you install the TDC1000-GASEVM GUI from TI website, you can find the source code zip under the following installation folder

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\TDC1000_7200EVM\Firmware

To change GASEVM board to water
    a) Change C36 to 1nF
    b) Change C27/C32 = 510pF to 51pF

You can use the BSTEVM but the switching freq (1.6MHz) might cause interference to 1MHz water transducer. This is not a configuration we have tested. Also, all our tests have been with inflow setup and not with clamp on or “through the pipe”.

    Thanks,
    Vishy
  • Thanks for the reply.

"You can use the BSTEVM but the switching freq (1.6MHz) might cause interference to 1MHz water transducer"

What do you mean by switching frequency, as mentioned above? In fact our design also implements switching ICs in the signal path.
Also, is there any reference design that implements this kind of switching between gas and fluid flow measurement?
  • There's a boost converter (LM2733) on the BSTEVM and its switching freq is 1.6MHz. Please check the GASEVM user manual. Thanks, Vishy
