AWR1642: Using the PBL to Stop the Watchdog

Hi Radar Team,

My customer has a question regarding the PBL watchdog function. He has received information that the PBL enables the watchdog and stops it before launching the retrieved image. From the 1642/1843 datasheet, it doesn't seem possible to stop a running watchdog. He would like to know how the PBL stops the watchdog before launching the retrieved image.

Hello Barend,
On AWR16/18xx PBL has watchdog enabled and it resets (make it off) before switching to the application.
Reset the watchdog: 0xFFFF FF0C (rcmREG->SOFTRST3) = 0xAD;

Hi Jitendra, does this reset just the watchdog clock, or does it completely reset the watchdog?

Hi,
That step hold the watchdog in reset mode. So later if application wants to initiate watchdog again, it needs to take watchdog out of reset after the pre-requisite configurations.
