I had a sample request rejected yesterday by TI and they claimed they couldn't load my web-site as the reason for the rejection; and it appears the issue was with TI!

Wow.

Anyone know what's going on?

  • Hi John,

I'm not clear on what this widget code is, or where it came from.  Are you saying it appeared when you tried to order samples on TI.com?  If so, what samples were you attempting to order?

    ~Leonard

  • Leonard,

This was code I had on my site that ran a widget that was something I got from TI a while ago - it was running fine up until recently.

Here's what I got from TI as to why I had a sample request rejected:

Reviewer Comments: An analysis of your company’s website does not show that it is in the business of building electronic designs for commercial use or your company name and/or URL could not be validated.

    Order Number: 1928771

The site was loading but then redirected.  It was due to the TI widget code.  My ISP has verified this and has scrubbed all of my files on my site.

The Fe(iron)-ony is rich in this one!

    Regards,
    John W.

  • Leonard,

I had a previous sample request go through with no problem a little over 1 week ago. So, this is due to the widget code going sideways.

    John W.
  • Leonard,

I've had that html on my site for awhile. There used to be 'widgets' that would point people that came to my site to TI's MSP430 and Low Power RF Forums (I think that's what it did). I'd have to go see if I could find a snapshot of my site from when this used to work to be sure.

I guess the code was dormant for a while; and now it redirects. I don't recall seeing an announcement from TI and/or the widget folks; but it's very possible I missed something.

The code was redirecting my site immediately after the home page was loaded; and the funny thing too - it would only do it on machines/browsers in which permissions to run javascript from 3rd parties was enabled. On my main development machine I of course have that disabled so I never saw it. When I saw the rejection message from TI - I took a look on a different machine and there it was. Not sure really how long this has been going on.

Anyway, glad we got to the bottom of this. Would have been a little more helpful for me if TI has told me my site was actually redirecting.

Does TI have any records of what happened with these widgets?

    Thanks,
    John
  • Hi John,

Thanks for taking the time to provide all this website info; I must profess I know hardly anything about these website issues, and E2E is really more directed for device and design issues.  Not wanting to cause more effort on your part, but I suggest you start a dialogue with the website team, easily accessed here:  https://www.ti.com/secext/docs/webform/webform.tsp  .  You can quickly access this link on any ti.com webpage by clicking this link at the bottom of the page: Website feedback . When you report this issue, you can reference this E2E thread so you don't have to duplicate the feedback.

I think you will have a quick resolution using this website link.  Let us know the outcome.

    Regards,

    ~Leonard

  • Leonard,

    OK - NP.
    Thanks,
