CCS/CC2650STK: After establish bluetooth connection to iPhone sensortag disconnects: error 6: The connection has timed out unexpectedly

Hi I have the problem, that when Iam connection the sensortag via Bluetooth to an Iphone 5s, the sensortag disconnects immediately and the red light blinks with the following message: The connection has timed out unexpectedly, error 6). I checked the battery status because I thought that battery is to low, but I have still 64 %. I was able to connect all the time without any problems, but now I am encountering this problem.

What could be the cause of this problem?

If you use a new battery, can it connect successfully?

Yes after I changed the battery it connects without any problems. The strange thing is that it seems to be that the battery status shown in the BLE Device Monitor is not correct maybe. Because when I was using the old battery it says "64% low" and I was encoutering the problem of disconnecting unexpectedly. So it seems that 64% of battery is not enough if you have a sample rate of 10ms. Or is the shown battery status not correct?

Actually, It’s difficult to detect how battery capacity is left on CR2032. I think CC2650STK only detect the voltage basically. I would say it might cause voltage drop on battery when it shows 64% and BLE RF is super active.

Ah okay, that means that sensortag is working unstable when battery capaciy is 64 % low and I have high sample rate?
I was even seeing that the led swtiched from green to red when it disconnected or when I turned the sensortag on.
I was looking for a detailed description what it could be and in the wiki it was only written that the red led blinks when a self test failed.
Do you know where it is written in a detailed way?

Yes, I suppose sensortag is working unstable when battery capaciy is 64 % low and you have high sample rate. I am not sure what you ask for a detailed way but you can see if processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC2650_SensorTag_User's_Guide is what you want.

Okay thank you for the important information. I checked the processor.wiki page to see what does the led means when it is blinking. They stated the following: The red LED is used to indicate any error in the power on self test, under normal operation it is not used. It does not say nothing because of not enough power to supply the board but it says when power on self test fails.---> Could be the cause because battery capacity is not enough?

If it fails because of not enough battery power, the device would reset directly and won’t be any LED blinking.

Yeah this is right, and changing the battery gave me the prove that the battery capacity was not enough. but it disconnected and the led blinked :(.
But since I changed it, it connects without problem.
