CC115L and CC1120 connectivity

Hello, 

We are trying to connect CC115L to CC1120  with the following configuraion:

Base Frequenct: 915Mhz
Modulation: 4-FSK
Data rate: 120 
Tx power: 4 dBm

Could someone help us produce a valid configuration where the CC115L (can only Tx) is in Tx and CC1120 is in Rx?

    Is 38.4 kbps the fastest configuration supported between CC1120 and CC11X?

    The rate is important for our design and 38.4 is too slow, is there a way to increase it to 120kbps in some other configuration?

  • Sorry if I was unclear. The example I linked to shows that communication between CC112x and CC1101 is possible, other datarate, deviations etc are possible. The example is more aimed to show how the sync word has to be set up to manage communication.

    Thank you for the input. 

    We looked at the datasheet (swru295e section 6.9) of the CC1120 for the ZERO-IF configuration :

    "Please note that when using Zero-IF, the RSSI will saturates at ~-50 dBm."

    We use RSSI values from -75dBm to -30dBm and this is mandatory.

    Which configuration would you recommend for CC115L (Tx) with CC1120 (Rx)  with the following configurations:

    • Base Frequenct: 915Mhz 
    • Modulation: 4-FSK
    • Tx power: 4 dBm
    • maximal data rate which could work when keeping in mind that RSSI values can be between -75dBm to -30dBm.

    Please advice.

    Could you kindly please send us any configuration that will enable to communicate CC115L (TX) and CC1120 (RX)? Please try to be as close as possible to the requirements above.

    We have been working on this for days with no results,  this is very discouraging.

    Is it possible to have the CC1120 configuration to also perform TX? ( our requirments missed that point)
  • You can simply use the same XML file, select "packet TX" tab and change the SYNC3:0 registers to 0xD3  91 D3 91 (this changes when going from "packet Rx" tab).

    Attached is an XML file. Note: I have not tested this one.
