I know I need to ensure the correct firmware is at the right place, but I didn't find the information about which firmware is the right one for me (nor any information about firmware). Also, I've seen the clock frequency could be changed in order to overcome integrity signal issues, but I couldn't find information about where is the right piece of code to do this modification.

I'm working with Linux, AM3359 and the TIWI-BLE module.

Thanks!

Best Regards,

Victor Leite

  • Hi Victor,

The problem could be incorrect driver/firmware versions.
Please follow the WL6 build instructions at: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/WL12xx_NLCP_Build_Instructions

Build script: https://github.com/TI-ECS/build-utilites/blob/master/wl12xx_build.sh (please modify gen_tag to "ol_R5.SP7.01")

    Regards,
    Gigi Joseph.

  • Hi Victor,

    Please see the below error:
"configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables"

This means the cross compiler is not working on your system.

Possibly it is a permission issue or some other configuration issue.

Are you able to just create a dummy c code, and compile using "arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc" (without the TI build script)?

    Regards,
    Gigi Joseph.

  • Hi Joseph,

Yes, I'm able to compile and run! I've checked files with md5sum (ok), tried to reinstall CodeSourcery, tried to build wl12xx with Linaro gcc, but no success! The same problem informed in config.log attached above.

    Do you have another idea?

    Thanks

    Victor Leite

  • Hello community!

How can I activate those messages from the wl1271 driver, in order to catch them with dmesg as this thread shows?

    http://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless_connectivity/f/307/p/232296/834962.aspx

  • Hi Victor,

To get additional log messages in the wl12xx driver, please see the below link:
    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/WL12xx_NLCP_Driver_Debug

Regarding the build error, I still think it is something to do with your build setup PC. Please also see: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/WL12xx_NLCP_Build_Instructions#Required_Software and confirm if you have all the required packages.

    Regards,
    Gigi Joseph.

  • Hi Joseph,

About driver debugging, from the wiki you recommended, it seems my CONFIG_DUNAMIC_DEBUG is not set. Should I change this file in order to set this configuration? That would make this configuration pertinent for further tests?

Also there is no /sys/kernel/debug/dynamic_debug/control folder into my file system. What is wrong?

I'm sorry the wiki is not so explicit, so it must be very clear for an expert, but for me there are lots of gaps!

    Thank you for your help.

    Regards,

    Victor

  • Just updating..

I got my problem solved by the thread below. Anyone in the same situation should consider taking a look.

    http://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless_connectivity/f/307/p/222926/1317008.aspx#1317008

I'm still figuring out how to activate debug messages from wl12xx driver.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
