Hi,

I am using the CC2540 USB dongle.

I am trying to download my code into the device but I get a "failed to erase flash" message.

I have been working with this device for a long time now, with no problem.

The problem started after single stepping a code that writes to the flash (that worked ok), but the IAR crashed while I did it.

What can I do to solve this problem?

Hi,

I also had problem like this when I used CC2541.

If you are selecting "Erase and Program" from Smart RF flash programmer it might still give error. Just select "Erase" first and then write image to CC2540.

Hi,

thanks for the replies.

I already tried doing the erase with the RF flash programmer, both with the "Erase" and the "Erase and program" options, and it failed as well.

Hi,

Have you verified that the supply voltage from the battery you are using to power your system is still enough?

In the past, when I had problems using the flash programmer, it was usually because the system's battery was already drained.

Hi,

I am powering the device via the CC Debugger (VCC_EXT), I don't use a battery.

Hello Nir,

Did you manage to find a solution to the erase failure. I have a couple of units doing the same. I can read the flash into a hex-file but I cannot Erase or Erase and Program.

Wondering if the flash is locked, and looking for a way to unlock it.
