Change sniff interval on the flay

I want to use the CC2541 and the BLE bridge example .

I see that in the BLE the sniff interval can change between 20ms  to 4 sec and also it can make latency up to 4 packets.

My question can I change the time of the sniff when I run on data every 20ms but when I don't except ant data to make it longer interval or activate the latency without make all the BLE setting from beginning?
