Do custom designs based on the CC2541 require certification?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541

If so, how much does the process cost, and how long does it take?

Thanks,

Virgil.

  • Your customized CC2541 design requires certification. As for the cost and time plan, it depends on certification facility. You have to contact your local certification facility to get the detail information.

  • Hi Virgil,

You will need hardware certification for FCC and CE .

You can get in touch with 3rd party certification houses like Underwriter Laboratories or TUV at your location to get the pricing.

If you are using TI BLE stack, you will have to undertake an "EPL" or "End Product Listing" from the BT SIG , which will grant the permission to use the BT Smart Logo on your product.
