The 10 - 12 dBm transmitter power levels advertised for the CC2560 are much too high for my application. Is it possible to programmatically set power levels to lower levels and, if so, what are the levels? Also is it possible to measure the received signal strength by getting RSSI values from a RSSI status register?
You did not describe your hardware setup. It is possible to change the transmit power levels. For example, in the Mindtree SDK for the MSP430, you can change the define for Maximum output power.
As Gustavo pointed out, there is an API to change the max output power of the radio. For RSSI status, I would recommend looking at the Thermometer Application in the MindTree SDK.
