Hello Team,

We have procured TI development kit: CC2640R2F LAUNCHPAD DEV KIT, LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2 as a reference platform for Bluetooth Radio Qualification testing. This board has a ufl connector which is not matching with a standard UFL connectors. We could not find matching UFL connector from any shops.

Can you please help us to sort this issue?

We are located in Bangalore, India.

Do you have to use this connector? One option is to replace the UFL connector with a standard SMA connector or similar that is available at your location.

Is it possible to get the layout details to change the connector to a standard one?

We will check the soldering option.

One more query: We are trying to test LL with Ellisys EBQ using comport option. But EBQ is not able to communicate with CC2640R2F. Is there any specific driver or configurations needed?

I am not aware of this Ellisys EBQ using comport issue. I suggest you to contact Ellisys for help.

We have used a small and inexpensive connector on the 2.4 GHz launchpads since most customers in this segment don't do conducted measurements. For the layout, you can place a connector where you like but keep distance to the antenna.

For Ellisys EBQ, I would suspect the issue is on the tester side. We don't have first hand knowledge of all testers therefore start by checking the Ellisys EBQ documentation.

When we connect this platform with Ellisys tester using ACM0, the HCI reset is failing. This could be related to the driver/FW used in TI.
Can you suggest the required FW/driver used for Bluetooth Qualification of LL?

Also when we connect the platform with RF tester, the automatic popup option is asking to install software: XDS110 (02.03.00.05) Embedded with CMSIS_DAP. Can you please share path to download this software?

Hi Aswathy,

As mentioned in the thread the connector is a Murata JSC type. You can get adapters to SMA, for example this: www.mouser.com/.../MXFR01JA1000

Connecting the XDS directly to the instrument does not work since you are not having the proper drivers. I would recommend rather connecting the UART signals through an FDTI or similar type of USB adapter.

You also need to run the HostTest software on the device to enable external HCI input through UART.

HostTest is included as an example project in the CC2640R2 SDK.
