CC1310 differential/single ended which is what?

In the CC1310 datasheet page 35 figure 7 shows a differential circuit.

I looked at schematic CC13xxEM-7XD-7793, which I believe is the schematic of evaluation board module.

This schematic uses the differential circuit as per the datasheet. My question is why does a differential circuit used to connect to a monopole or a PCB helix which are single ended?

As per application note AN058 swra161b page 9 - the dipole is a differential antenna and a meandered monopole or any such are single ended?

Is my understanding incorrect or is there a typo some where?

A differential output will give 3 dB better output power (twice the voltage swing) and 1-2 dB better sensitivity compared to a single ended topology. A single ended topology will have the lowest cost (fewer components).

When using a differential output/input a balun is used to convert from a differential to single-ended signal (i.e. the antenna is single ended)

Many thanks for the reply. On the Evaluation module, how can I connect a dipole antenna to the SMA connector? i.e I assume the EVM has converted the differential to single ended signal?

Use a dipole whip antenna. E.g eu.mouser.com/.../

So can I connect a biquad to the evaluation module as long as its 50 ohm impedance matched

Yes, you can connect a biquad filter to the evaluation module as long as it is 50 ohm impedance matched.
