Other Parts Discussed in Post: BQ25570, CC110L

At the Embedded World show this week in Germany, we will be showcasing a battery-less wireless sensor network complete with cloud connectivity! Each wireless sensor node is made up of various LaunchPad & BoosterPack modules:

Each of these wireless sensor nodes are powered by various energy harvesting sources enabled by the BQ25570 device, including solar, thermal & more. The nodes read a sensor & periodically sends the latest reading to a centralized gateway using the CC110L SubGHz RF BoosterPack.

To aggregate the various sensor data coming from each node, we needed to build a subGHz RF-to-Wi-Fi gateway. We used the SimpleLink Wi-FI CC3200 LaunchPad as a central hub, or gateway, and wanted to share the code we used to connect to the cloud. To do this, we leveraged Energia, the rapid prototyping development environment for LaunchPads. We used it to send all of our sensor data to Exosite, a cloud service which was leveraged to monitor a home or building automation focused sensor network.
