Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25070 How should we select charger device for LiFePO4 battery?
Can we use any Li-ion battery charging device if charge voltage is match with used LiFePO4 battery?
Or is special feature required for LiFePO4 battery charging…
It says 3,7V but actually the caharging voltage says 4,2V (https://docs-emea.rs-online.com/webdocs/1249/0900766b81249861.pdf) so the BQ25070 could be actually a good solution, or you suggest me other devices?
Thanks Alessandro
Hello Shaka
We have the bq25070 / 71 LiFePO4 charger this unit has a number of desirable features such as input voltage protection and integrated LDO.
But it has not been configured for charging a Li-Ion battery. We have several Li-Ion battery chargers…
Hello Harry,
The closest solution that I could find in the BQ25070 which is set to a regulation voltage of 3.5V and can be configured to have a fast charge current of as low as 100mA.
What is the time frame for your project?
Thanks to a discussion with TI's system enineering we have found fine solutions for the chemistry:
- linear: BQ25070
- switching, standalone: BQ24620/30
- switching I2C configurable: BQ24157, higher end: BQ21163
Hi, For a single cell LiFePO4 battery, you can use the bq25071. As for multi-cell LiFePO4 charging, we have the following app note that can help: www.ti.com/.../slua565.pdf . Regards, Steven
