Part Number: DRV8256 Team,
In case that Itrip set at low current, such as 100mA, and TOFF set to 0, the Ivalley can be calculated as follows;
Ivalley = 19mA + 99% * 100mA = 118mA
Ivalley is greater than Itrip. What happens at this kind of cases?
Thanks…
Part Number: DRV8256 Team, My customer is thinking to use DRV8256 between 0.1A ~ 0.5A. I have some questions here;
1. Does DRV8256 have capability to drive BDC motor at such small current? 2. If yes, what is Itrip accuracy between 0.1A ~ 0.5A? There are…
Hi Cristian,
The Overtemperature Thermal limit is an internal threshold and can't be adjusted. If you are trying to test the temperature limitations by tripping the thermal limit it is recommended to run the device with high RMS current over some duration…
Part Number: DRV8256 We are considering using TI's Motor Drive IC (DRV8256ERGER). We would like to ask you to review the circuit configuration and overall suitability for use.
If there are any other considerations other than the three below, please…
Hello JAcob,
Thanks again for your help in this case.
I'l try to answer your questions:

Part Number: DRV8256 I have a dozen or so IC’s I plan to use that are from a previous project, so the have been on the shelf for a year. I see there are different bake profiles on my reflow oven. What temp and how long do you recommend baking these to…
Part Number: DRV8256 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8251EVM , DRV8251 , DRV8210 , DRV8873 , DRV8243-Q1 We are designing motor circuits using the DRV8256. Which circuit should I use: high-side or low-side to measure the current flowing through the motor…
Part Number: DRV8256 Hello TI,
I've already used the DRV8256PRGER in a design and like it pretty much. Especially the size / power density of this VQFN device is awesome.
To improove the thermal management for my next design, I would like to connect…
Part Number: DRV8256 Hi team,
a customer would like to have an alternative to DRV8873H which he controls without MCU.
DRV8243H has already been tested but unfortunately it requires nSleep reset pulse.
Would DRV8256 be an option here?
