Part Number: TMS320F28386D Tool/software: Hello, I am working with the TMS320F28386D (referred to as "DSP" below), which is configured as an I2C slave on a shared bus. The Connectivity Manager (CM) receives commands via I2C (CM-I2C), while the C28x…

Hi Joe, Thanks for reaching out. I have a few questions to help narrow this down: Is there a consistent bus state when I2C is locked? Is SDA low while SCL is high? Is SCL stuck low? When you tried bit banging SCL, did you also generate a STOP…

Part Number: MSP430FR2433 Tool/software: I am trying to initiate a firmware update on MSP430 (MSP430FR2433) via I2C. After i enter the BSL, I can see that the MSP430 responds to address 0x48 ( cuz i do get an ACK if i send the address ). But sending…

  • BQ25895: I2C line stuck low (SCL)

    Kevin McCullough
    Kevin McCullough
Part Number: BQ25895 We have discovered some sort of glitch state or failure mode where the SCL pin on the BQ25895 becomes stuck pulling low, thus stalling the I2C bus indefinitely. Once the device enters this state it persists across power cycles,…

The timing looks similar enough to me. From the last waveform, seems like SCL is trying to go high but stuck at low. Maybe you can check the FT4232 board setting. This is unlikely UCD related

Hi Shuming, I was able to look at the I2C waveform. Here is the main issue I see (starting at 43.492s). The SoC initiates the 16-byte read from the MCU and we are able to get one byte from the MCU. During the readback, the MCU is driving the SDA…
