There is actually more to it. In PBTL the thermal shutdown and other channel protections are linked. The two PBTL channel groups are not linked. So you could loose 2 channels of the 4 and have two channels trying to drive the 0.8ohms. This is outside…

We are evaluating TAS5414A and TAS5424A for amplifier stage of Car Infotainment System. I was looking at tweeter detection
feature of TAS54xxA. What is the impact if tweeter is present or not
present? After tweeter…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5414A Hello TI
I has a PCB designed with 2x TAS5414A amplifier devices that is the same schematic as the EVM. Although I can measure a clean signal output across each of the amplifier terminals (post LPF), there is…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5414A Hello,
I've got a question about the thermal pad of the digital amplifier TAS5414A in the DKD package. Can I connect this pad to ground or should I leave it unconnected (floated)?
Thanks for the help. Chr…
Chris,
I got fooled by the datasheet on Mute exactly like you. That pin is not supposed to be pulled, but rather be left floating with 0.33uF capacitor to ground. Otherwise, even if you may get signal out, as I did, the chip will not work properly.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5414A , TMS320F28335 Hi everyone,
I have problem with output signal of amplifier based on TAS5414A. My circuit is identical with TAS5414A evaluation module. Supply voltage is 15V. I have my circuit conect to PC with USB…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5414A Hello,
I would like to use the TAS5414A without output filter.
The chip will be very close to the speaker (coil).
Is it possible?
Thanks
Charles
Hi Gregg,
Let me ask one more thing.
If I would like to use TAS5414B as same as TAS5414A (previous design) in terms of master and slave function,
following register setting is required.
Master Device,
0x0A D6 = 0 (not to send sync pulse)
0x0A D5 = x…
