Part Number: CD4017B Dear Sir/ Madam, If we supply 3.3V to CD4017B, what is the threshold for input high and low voltage(VIL, VIH)? Datasheet provide data for 5,10,15V supply but no 3.3V data. I just want to confirm if it is 70% supply voltage…

Thomas, There is always a way to make the model and it would be in the form of a custom spice macro. You could use the schematic in the datasheet and some basic gates to create a decade counter or you could try to find an existing PSpice decade counter…

Hi Chad, Thanks for the response. I have not tried that suggestion but it's a good idea. The device does work at f<1k, just not reliably. My 2 hour timer lasted about 2.2 hours, so I thought using an external oscillator would be a good solution. …

  • RE: NE555: How do I create a biphasic square wave generator circuit with variable frequency and magnitude?

Kiryl, The time periods can be ratios, such as all steps are the same width (1:1) If the ratios can fit into 10 time steps or less then CD4017B can team up with a single NE555. The NE555 sets the repetition rate (output frequency). The CD4017B sets…

Hello chennangan, For a square wave of such low frequency, unless you need extremely low jitter, it makes the most sense to use a microcontroller to directly sample the square wave at much higher frequency and program the microcontroller as a digital…
