  • RE: TMS320F280039C: I2C hang issue - SCL stuck low in slave mode

Hi Clark, Perhaps try adding some 50µs delay into the I2C R/W interrupt loops. The x39c 120MHz SYSCLK seemingly has race conditions noticed in the serial peripherals latching up.in CCS debug. Especially noticed SPI, SCI FIFO signals PZ silicon not behaving…

Ardavan, As requested above, can you send me your exact clocking configurations and confirm via scope shot if the timing requirements are being met? Can you try using an exact FSM clock, so PSC = 8 and try the results? Ardavan Pourkeramati said: Also…

Part Number: BQ27426 Tool/software: In our design, the fuel gauge is always on because it is connected to the battery, pull-up resistors (4k7 ohm) are disabled until the microcontroller launches a measure, so i2c lines are floating we don't use a 1Mohm…

Part Number: CC3235MODASF Hi, We use cc3235modasf on some of our products, we have discovered that when SCL is stuck low the function I2C_transferTimeout never returns. I have seen there that it was resolved for cc3220, is it still a known issue…

    TI Thinks Resolved
Part Number: MSP430FR59941 We have a custom platform that utilizes an MSP430 chip that interfaces with another controller via I2C. After a period of high activity between the MSP430 and the controller, we have a situation where SCL is stuck low. When…

I just add more back ground, the issue is why SCL stuck low, still need BU expert to analysis. I am not telling accessing non-existing device is the reason, it will return NACK, won't cause hang.

Eason, thank you for your timely response. We believe we are doing DMA correctly. Question 1: If we are not meeting USCI30, then what else could be causing SCL to be stuck low? We are running the SCL at a frequency near the slow end of I2C fast…

    Resolved
Part Number: CC1312R7 Tool/software: Using the latest CoreSDK 8.30.02.00 we have met the issue in I2C_transferTimeout() where when the SCL is externally held low, the function will never return. This issue, and a workaround, is described in https://e2e…
