Dear *,

we have to find Op Amp replacement for following OpAmps:

The replacement should be newer devices and cost-effective.

The new parts don't have to be pin compatible. The supply voltage Vmax = 36V

1) LM324D

2) MC33171DT

Do you have a recommendation that don't uses external pot for offset nulling ? Would be the OPA196 a good choice?

Hi David,

For the LM324, TI also offers an LM324. But it is not a newer upgraded device. If you can use two dual channel devices instead of one quad channel, I would recommend taking a look at the LM358B.

For the MC3317, a newer device TI has is the OPA990 or OPA991.

Hi Tim,

thank you for the replay.

1) Regarding LM324D

Current design uses the TI LM324D. Do you have a newer and cost-effective QUAD OPAMP device replacement?

2) Regarding MC33171

Currently the MC33171 device has external potentiometer to reduce input offset to minimum. Is the OPA196 a better choice regarding input offset voltage compared to OPA991 ?

Hi David,

1) There is not a newer version of the LM324 from TI. If your design can utilize a low voltage supply (5V), we do offer the LM324LV. The "LV" device is a low voltage version of the LM324.

2) The OPA19x family (OPA191, OPA192, OPA196, OPA197) of devices will have improved offset over the OPA991. Using an OPA19x device will give higher precision than the OPA991 and almost certainly better performance than using a pot to reduce Vos.
