LMH2100: Resistive Tap

Part Number: LMH2100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMV226, LMV225

Can I use resistive tap instead of coupler for this part?

  • Hi Amin,

as the LMH2100 has an input resistance of 50R it should also work with a resistive tap.

    Can you post a schematic?

  • That's what I suspected, but the reason I doubted is that a resistive tap method is not mentioned in the datasheet. For example, in the datasheet of LMV225/LMV226, it's specifically mentioned that LMV225 is suited for resistive tap and LMV226 is suited for connection with a directional coupler.

The attached image is what I have in mind

  • Hi Amin,

The LMH2100 should also work with a resistive tap and the image looks to be the correct way of doing a resistive tap. One thing to note is that you should make sure that you choose a resistor value such that you get the correct amount of attenuation needed for your design.
