LM2902K: Any clamp diode at the inputs of the K version? if yes what is the max diode current ?

Part Number: LM2902K
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2902

Hello TI team

Is there any clamp diode to power supplies lines at the inputs of the LM2902 ? and the LM2902K ? (do ESD diodes clamp to supplies lines? )

If yes what would be the max allowable curent to flow thru the inputs in case of clamping? 0,25mA is possible ?

thanks

Olivier

  • Hello Oliver,

There is a diode path from input to ground on almost every op amp type. LM2902(K) are no exceptions; there is a diode from input to ground (pin11)

The absolute maximum rating table does not allow a voltage lower than -0.3V and does not specify a current level. However, section 8.3.3 of the data sheet does address the input current. 250uA is within section 8.3.3 suggestion.  Keep in mind the the output voltage may be either low or high.

  • Excellent, Thank you very much Ron for pointing to the exact paragraph which answer to my question and even more.

(The phase inversion was my folowing concern indeed, answered as well)
