INA210: Amplifier recommendation

Part Number: INA210
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA190

Hi Team,

my customer looks for an differential current amplifier with for the following specification. Which one would fit best here:

  • Low side / high side shunt                          High Side
  • Common-mode input range                       <1V
  • Current Range                                           (1µA à 100mA)
  • BI-directional / uni-diretctional                    Unidirectional
  • Shunt                                                         <1ohm
  • Load                                                           180µW to 250mW

Thanks

  • Jan,

For currents this low, we typically recommend checking out either our INA190 or an instrumentation amplifier. The reason for these recommendations is that you are going to have to ensure that the device you choose has input bias currents low enough that the device can differentiate the measurement current from these. The INA190 is our best performing current sense amp here, with Ib in the nanoamp range. While the the INA190 is a bidirectional device, it can be operated in a unidirectional simply by placing the REF pin to GND.
