LF356-MIL: balance pins

i want to use the LF356-MIL in a light integration circuit

in the example i got i dont have any definition of the balance pins

what is the offset voltage i need to supply?

Hello Nadav,

There are system examples shown in Section 8.3 of the datasheet.

It would seem that between pins 1 and 5 it is connected with a 25k potentiometer that is controlled by Vs.

Hi Nadav,

due to manufacturing tolerances the two input JFETs of LF356 aren't 100%-ly identical. This results in an imbalance and -as consequence- in a little offset voltage shift. By the help of external trimpot the balance can be restored.
