Can OPA350 be powered by dual supply, for example +5V and -5V?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA350

Its spec says single supply, but can OPA350 be powered by dual supply, for example +5V and -5V?

Thanks

  • Don,

The maximum total power supply for OPA350 is 5.5V (see table below) thus OPA350 can NOT be powered from dual +/-5V (this would require max total power supply of 10V).

Therefore, you may use single power supply from 2.7V to 5.5V, a dual power supply from +/-1.35V to +/-2.75V, or any combination of power supplies as long as the total voltage does not exceed 5.5V; for example: -1V and 4.5V, -5V and 0.5V, or 10V and 15.5V.  However, always make sure that the input common-mode and the output voltage (Vin*gain) stay within the chosen power supply voltage range.
