OPA2182: CMRR/PSRR at high frequency

Part Number: OPA2182
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA211

Hi Team,

customer is selecting the right component for an industrial application design.

he found that OPA2182 is an component with certain required features but regarding the CMRR/PSRR at high frequency the component is not matching my requirements.

He'd like to know if TI has fabricated similar component but with enough CMRR/PSRR at 300Mhz.

I researched the datasheet and find most of CMRR/PSRR are at Max 10MHz freq.

I can only find OPA211 series have Max freq. range 100MHz for CMRR parameter after I checked lots of op amps.

Now, could you be son kind as to let me know the electronics components (op amps, instrumental amplifier, etc.)

with the highest CMRR/PSRR at high frequencies in TI catalog (does not matter the number of channels or other parameters).

It would be a great help for me to have an official answer from TI so I could re-focus and try to meet the technical requirement of my design in a different way.

Thanks.

  • Hi Frank,

usually, the common mode rejection at high frequencies is eroded by PCB stray capacitances ruining the balance of both inputs. So having good numbers in the datasheet would only be half the job.

Another issue is that the common mode rejection can be entirely ruined by using an improriate circuit topology at the input.

Can you tell more about your application? A schematic would be helpful.

    Kai

  • Hi Frank,

What is the application of your project?

Most of Precision Op Amps products have BW below 50MHz, and CMRR/PSRR BW responses are "ran out" approx. 100MHz range or earlier.

I think that you might want to check with Hight Speed Support Team. I can transfer you there, if you are interested.

For instance, THS6222 has CMRR and PSRR plot shown below. This part is used for Powerline Broadband Communication application.

Please let us know how we are able to assist you.

    Best,

    Raymond
