Hi team,
My customer has a 6s BMS project and they need a UV and OV protector, so I would like to know if LMV7231 can be used in below configuration? That is each channel input is differential, thanks!

Hi team,

Hi Kai,
Thanks for your reply!
I use local ground for both LMV7231, so if I'm protecting 12 cells in series, then the lower LMV7231 ground will be connected to the ground of the lowest cell and the upper LMV7231 ground will be connected to the ground of 7th cell.
For OR circuit, I will use isolation. My main concern is that for each LMV7231, can the inputs be differential? IN+6 and IN-6 won't be referenced to GND as in datasheet

Thanks Abraham for your question and Kai for your continued support.
Unfortunately, all of the inputs for the LMV7231 are monitored with respect to ground since they are compared to an internal reference that is ground referenced.

Clever level shifting Kai
Only other option I could think of is to use comparators that can handle the full voltage range of all the cells in series. This way everything could still be monitored with respect to ground with the use of resistor dividers.

Thank you Kai, Chuck, we will try with those methods, your help is really appreciated
