INA239: INA239 sampling rate

Part Number: INA239

Hi,

I want uo use INA239 to monitor the voltage and current, for get the detailed I/V curve need more sample point.

From INA239 datasheet, we only find the ADC conversion-time, and the MIN. ADC conversion-time is 50us, can we say the ADC sample rate is 20Khz(1/50us)?

thanks

Marco

  • Marco,

The answer is yes and no. You are correct that the maximum sampling rate of the INA239 is 20kHz, but these samples are also shared by the ADC for the other channel of the MUX in operation, and the sampling rate will decrease if both are used. For example, if you are measuring both current and voltage bus, these two channels would split the conversion and the sampling rate for each would be 10kHz. The temperature sensor is also a potential option for the MUX which would also reduce the sampling
