INA226: negative result

Hi sir,

could you please help me to review customer's design?

customer has 6 the same sensors ina226, connect with one I2C to STM32,

but when there is no loading device,

3 sensors return result 0 and and 3 return negative result.

do you know the reason?

    Hi Frank,

    I would add a simple resistor as dummy load so that a certain minimum load current can flow.

    Hey Frank,

    Could you elaborate on what 'negative result" means? What are the numerical values being read back? These are shunt voltage/current values correct?

    What is the shunt resistor and bus voltage?

    Please note that the input offset voltage can be max ±10uV, thus Vshunt measurement could read up to - 4 LSB and this doesn't include other possible error sources.
