LMP8640HV-HEVAL: about mounted device on EVM

Hello E2E,

Our customer bought LMP8640HV-HEVAL. However, non HV version is mounted in EVM.

Is this the correct EVM?
Can this EVM tolerate 60V input?

    Can you share a bit more detail here? Did they purchase this EVM from the TI store? 

    (edited some of the questions. Missed the attached photos)

    From the LMP8640 family, only the HV version is able to accurately withstand a 60V Vcm. The normal LMP8640 is only rated for a 42V common mode. 

    I'm digging into this now with our EVM team, but in the mean time, we need to get the problem sorted for your customer. I can think of two ways I can help here.

    1. I can send your customer samples of the LMP8640-HV-H device if they are able to perform their own soldering. 

    2. I can sample them a new EVM. Before I can do this though, I need to verify that our entire stock wasn't built by the manufacturer using the wrong device.

    Please let me know if either of the above will help.

    Please provide me with two HV-ver devices. One is a reserve against implementation failure. I will change it for customer's EVM.

    Also, If I request new EVM, when can you ship it?

    ACGUY,

    I was able to verify with the factory yesterday that the last build for these boards was incorrect and the parts populated are indeed the non-HV parts when the HV parts should be installed. Unfortunately, I don't think a replacement EVM will help as our current stock all currently exhibit this issue (I also confirmed the 20V/V and 50V/V EVMs do have the correct parts mounted). 

    I think the best path forward if you have the capabilities is I will provide samples to you for you to make the swap for the customer if that is acceptable. I've sent you a friend request to send me a shipping address off the forum and I will get the sample request immediately.
