INA849: INA849: TINA simulation error with single power supply

Part Number: INA849

Hi,

I tried to simulate INA849 with the following spec.

  • Vin+ : 3.5V
  • Vin- : 3.4V
  • Gain: 9
  • Vdiff: 100mV
  • VCM: 3.45V
  • Vout observed: 1.0V
  • Vout expected: 0.9V

Any clue?

  • Hi Sadashiva,

Thanks for your post, I can help you. This appears to be a model issue. Based on your input parameters, the output should be 900mV. The INA VCM v VOUT calculator tool confirms that your input and output are within linear operating range.

What's interesting is if I change IN+ to 3.6V and IN- to 3.5V, the model seems to "work" as we expect. Looks like a simulation / calculation quirk. I have sent this issue over to our model expert to further investigate.

We don't expect the actual INA849 silicon to behave this way. Your circuit is within linear operating range.

  • Thanks this helps, I did simulation in PSpice also. Same error is observed. It should be model related error
