Hello,

The TLV3201 layout guidelines on Page 19 suggests the following:

"For slow-moving input signals, take care to prevent parasitic feedback. A small capacitor (1000 pF or less) placed between the inputs can help eliminate oscillations in the transition region. This capacitor causes some degradation to propagation delay when the impedance is low. The topside ground plane runs between the output and inputs."

Just want to clarify what the last sentence here means. Does it refer to having a ground plane on the top side of the PCB below where the component sits to cover both inputs and output pins?

    Thanks for posting your question.  You're right, that does need some clarification.  Many times a PCB is flooded with a ground pour on the top and bottom layers.  So the point the author was trying to make is that putting some isolation between inputs and outputs is generally a good idea to minimize coupling between the two.  It is common that an input signal is not coming from a low impedance source.  So providing some additional isolation to minimize coupling from output back to input is recommended.  Using ground pour is one common option.  I hope this helps clarify.
