Part Number: TLC27M4
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV9104,
Hi Team,
What is the RθJA or RθJC value for the TLC27M4?

Hi Tom,
This is a very old part so it will take a few days for me to get these values. Before I'm able to retrieve them, can you specify what package you want these values?
As mentioned, this is a very old part. Would the customer be interest in looking at the TLV9104? It's one of our newer devices that has overall better performance than the TLC27M4.

Hi Robert,
Thank you for your reply.
I want to know thermal information about TLC27M4BID(TLC27M4B instead of the TLC27M4).
And I will recommend the TLV9104 to my customer.

Tom Liu
Hi Tom,
Thank you! I'll talk to the thermal team to get the information on this device!
Best Regards,
Robert Clifton
Hi Tom,
Just following up with you. The thermal team is actively working on getting this information.

Robert Clifton
Hi Robert,
Thank you for your reply.
I am waiting for your information.

Hi Tom,
While I continue to get the newest thermal information in updated standards, I want to point that their is some thermal data in the datasheet, it's just in seen in thermal conductivity rather then thermal resistance as seen in the table.

Now using the D package, you can calculate the thermal resistance as it's just the inverse of the thermal conductivity. Based on the table the thermal resistance should be 131.6C/W for the thermal resistance from the junction to ambient air. At least based on the thermal simulation back when this device was released.
I'm still working to get the thermal resistance based on today's JEDEC model for your customer but hopefully this should give us an idea of around where it to expect the new thermals to be.

Robert Clifton
Hi Robert,
Thank you for your information.
I will tell my customer the information above.
And I am still waiting for your further thermal information.

Hi Tom,
Wonderful! If the customer has follow up questions let me know! I'll reach out to the thermal team to see where they are in the modeling.
Best Regards,
Robert Clifton
Hi Tom,
Well I'm a little surprised by the results. From the JEDEC simulation model:
θJA = 80.2C/W
θJC(top) = 35.9C/W
Let me know if you need anything else!

Robert Clifton
