Hello,
Historically, G3 and G4 suffixes indicated RoHS compliance. These devices had restricted flows that ensured Sn or NiPdAu finishes, respectively. Since then, most devices (including the standard TL084CDR) have become RoHS compliant.
The TL084CDR is sourced from multiple assembly sites, and therefore could have a Sn or NiPdAu finish. E4 devices also have NiPdAu finish, but additionally meet the TI defined “Green” requirements which go further to meet low halogen requirements for Brominated Flame Retardants in the plastics. If the customer wants to look deeper into this there is a very thorough discussion on TI.com: https://www.ti.com/support-quality/environmental-info/logo-product-labeling.html.
