LM7301: Can't find part in default libraries

Part Number: LM7301
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA197

Hello, I'm trying to add an LM7301 from the default library path ("C:\cds_spb_home\cdssetup\pspTILibDir") to a PSpice for TI schematic page, and though the part is available from the parts placement menu, when I add it to my schematic I get the following message: "WARNING(ORCAP-2445): Instance U1: SCHEMATIC1,  PAGE1 (3.20,  2.30).  not found in the configured libraries." and the circuit will not simulate. I can see the following files in the pspTILibDir directory for LM7301: LM7301.LIB, LM7301.LIBsig, LM7301.OLB, LM7301.OLBlck. Other parts from this library path are fine (e.g. OPA197). How can I get PSpice for TI to recognize this part?

  • Hey Donald,

Is your .lib file included in your simulation settings? Also are you using the LM7301 from the integrated library? I just simulated a circuit with that and had no issue.

    Best,
    Jerry

  • I think the part is from the integrated library (path shows "C:\cds_spb_home\cdssetup\pspTILibDir"). I tried explicitly adding LM7301.LIB to the simulation library path but it still can't find it. Not sure what's wrong as other parts work from this same location. Maybe I need to re-install (or use a different simulator).

  • Hey Donald,

How are you getting to the "integrated library" in PSpice for TI?
I usually will go through Place > PSpice Component > Search...

Jerry is currently OOO but from his statement, he says that when he accesses the part this way, no problems involved.
If you are third party importing, the library file needs to be configured in the simulation settings.

    This video should help: https://training.ti.com/pspice-ti-3rd-party-model-import

    All the best,
    Carolina
