AMC1311: AMC1311BDWVR I'd like to confirm FIT values on TI-Website data

Part Number: AMC1311

Hi, TI-engineers,

I'm J.Komura of TI Distrbutor TED and we received question from our customer for TI indicated FIT's values on Web.
Customer are examining several deveices' FIT values for their new applications. Then below two FIT are different than their calucalation result.

(their others are as same as TI values.)

                                TI-Web / Cust-Cal
AMC1311BDWVR: 0.8FIT / 0.17FIT
*Used calcuration parameters are from TI-Web data.
By my calucration, those are same as customer's.

So would you please give advice what different between TI FIT and our result.

Or why shows worse FIT values on Web?

Thanks and best regards,
J.Komura@TED(Tokyo Electron Device LTD)

  • Hi Komura-san,

I hope you are well. Most likely, the customer does not account for the AMC1311BDWVR being a 4-die multi-chip module.

  • Smith-san

Thank you for your response and advice.

But, I think multi-chip is not related this FIT factors.

Because, used parameters in the FIT calculation are obtained from the results of the reliability test of the module itself, so there are no parameters related to the structure of the device. If my understanding is different, please give me some advice.

Also, if the values do not match the FIT data shown in the URL below and the conditions, isn't there any individual information to explain this?

    Thanks and best regards,

  • Hi Komura-san,

I do believe that multi-chip affects the process based FIT calculations, however I believe the customer may be doing a functional safety based FIT calculation.

FIT for functional safety is an almost completely different approach to process-based FIT calculations. Can you confirm if this is for a functional safety based FIT calculation or process based?

This document for functional safety based FIT calculation has the same result as the customer: https://www.ti.com/lit/fs/sbaa440/sbaa440.pdf

  • Smith-san,

Thank you for response and kindly information.

I see, Function safety information are help for their next step.

Sorry, they just want to confirm "technology FIT values"(not ISO26262 FIT) on TI Website.
Because they must check the FIT values under their application Ta confition with TI data.
I think actual sample size of test units are different than Web.

So would you please check TI info or give advice how to they caluclate.

    Thanks and best regards,
    J.Komura@TED(Tokyo Electron Device LTD)

  • Smith-san,

    Thanks for your help.

I got other advice that below TI FIT support tool helps customer FIT issue.

    https://www.ti.com/support-quality/reliability/temperature-change-FIT.html

And at next step of ISO26262 FIT, I can advise them with your help info.

    Thanks again and best regards,

    J.Komura@TED(Tokyo Electron Device LTD)
