OPA547: If the thermal pad of OPA547 is internally linked with any pin

Part Number: OPA547

Hi team,

I have a question regarding OPA547.

According to OPA547F/500 datasheet, it has a heat sink pad on the bottom side, the heat sink pad should be soldered on the PCB, what is the signal definition of the heat sink pad? Does it connect to the negative power supply V- internally?

Regards,

Xiaoying

  • The note on page 2 says that "Tabs are electrically connected to the V– supply."

  • Hi Clemens,

Thanks for replying to the inquiry!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

    Hi Xiaoying,

If your application is using dual supply voltage rails, then the thermal tab should be connected to the most negative supply rails in the design or V- as pointed out by Clemens.

If the application is using a single supply voltage rail, then the thermal tab should be connected to the Ground electrically.

If you have additional questions, please let us know.

    Happy Holidays!

    Raymond
