Hi
I have problems and queries about this THS7001 chip. My specification is a gain of 18 dB. Here is the test set-up I used for your reference. When I tested and measured it, the gain is around 2 dB which didn’t meet the requirement. Here I am Attaching the Test set up Which I have set up and tested.
Gain =Vout/Vin
Theoretically
Test set up given
Input-1.8V (Square wave)
Amplitude-0.45v
Frequency-392khz
G0=G1=G2=+5v
Measurement Results
So can you help me out. Am I doing wrong setup? please correct
My requirement is only gain of 18db (ths7001)
So I have used only PGA
Hi Durga,
you might want to add an isolation resistor directly at the PGA OUT. Too high capacitive loads can erode the phase margin and result in oscillation. Try 50...100R.

Hello Durga,
Unfortunately, this isn't very apparent in the datasheet, but you have to apply power to the preamplifier as well, even if you are not using the preamplifier. More details can be found on this thread. Note: PGA minimum supply voltage must be less than or equal to preamp supply voltage.
Also, would it be possible to add a 3.3kOhm to ground for shutdown pin?
Thank you,
Sima
No problem! Hopefully the above fixes the issue. Let us know if it does or does not.
Hello Durga,
Did the above suggestions help fix the issue?
Thank you,
