Hi Experts,

Good day. I would like to ask your assistance in choosing pre-amp PGA needed for audio application.

Cx share the following spec's for this:

  • Input Signal Range: 106uV pk to (25V pk);
  • Frequency Range: 100 Hz to 20 KHz;
  • Gain: +5.6dB to +68.6dB in <2 dB steps;
  • Gain update via I2C/SPI interface @Zero-crossing point.

Thanks for your guidance.

Regards,
Archie A.

  • Archie,

    See the image below for the list of audio PGAs offered by the precision amplifier group.

    I have a couple questions,

    1.) Is the input signal differential or single ended?

    2.) What is the expected source impedance?

    PGA2500 is very close to the gain requirements listed (0dB, 10-60dB with 1dB steps), but would require some input attenuation to accommodate 25Vpk input as the supply rails are +/- 5V.

    If the maximum 25Vpk input spec is differential, either PGA2310 or PGA2320 may be sufficient without input attenuation as they feature +/-15V power supply. The gain range of these devices is -95.5dB to +31.5dB with 0.5dB steps.
