Piezoelectric transducer driver sloutions

Hi John,

Unfortunately our devices focused on piezo transducers are specified only for lower than 20kHz range. In addition to that, the frequency response is affected depending on the capacitive load.

Perhaps a discrete solution with high-speed drivers can be considered.

I found a chip - TPA2100P1 that is a 19-VPP Mono Class-D Audio Amplifier for Piezo/Ceramic Speakers and the chip's switch frequency is 300Khz (typ.) with 0.1-2uf load. But I did not find how much the chip's band width was. In additional, I could not sure what its input signal is sine wave or square wave?

Could the chip's output wave can reach 100Khz or higher ?

Hi John,

TPA2100P1 is also spec'd up to 20kHz, similar to other audio/actuator devices. You can notice such range in several plots including frequency on the horizontal axis.
In addition to that, I would not recommend to drive signals close to the Class-D switching frequency. This is basically the fundamental frequency of the PWM signals at the output.
