Hello, Expert.

We set a 5A current limit in our circuit. But, we trying to pass 7A current, it shut down in 1 sec.

Is this happened beacuse over the current limit we set?

Also, i wonder what mean "internally protected against current overloads" in description part datasheet

thank you.

  • Hi Joe,

    please show a schematic.

  • Hi Joe,

Is this happened beacuse over the current limit we set?

Possibly. There are two possibilities, either current limit exceeds the Rcl (Iset) limit or thermal shutdown. As Kai pointed out, it is hard to say without the schematic. If OPA548 is not hot to a touch, it is likely due to overcurrent shutdown.

    Best,

    Raymond
