INA293EVM: Follow-up to measuring current in a totally floating application

Part Number: INA293EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA293

Hello,

This question is related to a previous question about measuring current in a totally floating application. This is my proposed setup after incorporating the considerations given in the replies to my previous question. If anyone has any guidance or suggestions based off of this diagram, any input is appreciated.

Thank you,

Maria

  • Hello Maria,

Are the two GND pins of the INA293 connected together?  From the INA293 standpoint all the voltages are relative to its GND pin.  Is your DAQ system referenced to the same GND pin?

If the answer to both questions is yes then I think you are good.

If not and you need isolation to your DAQ then you can look at our isolation or magnetic current sensors.  They have some tradeoffs as well.

  • Hi Maria,

I aggree with Javier, because of the connection between IN- and GND the circuit should work.
