INA185: measure currents in the range of 1uA to 1A with an accuracy of 1uA.

Part Number: INA185
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA210, INA190

Hi Team,

The customer wants to measure currents in the range of 1uA to 1A, with an accuracy of 1uA. Could the INA185 or the INA210 be able to reliably amplify voltages from 1uV to 1V with a resolution of 1uV? Can you share references? If not, can you provide better devices that can satisfy the requirement?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Marvin

  • Hi,

    ..range of 1uA to...accuracy of 1uA => 100% error.

    Are you sure?

    With best regards

    Gerhard

  • Hi Marvin,

    Thanks for your question and using the E2E forum.

    INA210 has max input bias current of 35uA and INA185 is even larger, this is problematic for your lower end of current measurement range.

    INA190 max input bias of 3nA is more feasible for your application but noise may become issue for level of accuracy desired.

    Looking into our available instrumentation amplifiers could turn up more capable devices for this application.
