PNP question

Hi team,

VG is 33HZ, 10v~70v. Why VF  Voltage can follow VG1 changes?

  • VF1 is open so even the tiniest base emitter leakage will make VF1 want to follow the base voltage.

This transistor also has breakdown voltage for the different junctions. Be sure to not violate the voltage limits for the transistor.

  • Hi Ron,

You mean VF1 follow the base voltage beacuse the base emitter leakage current? Why the basw emitter leakage current can lead this result?

    Could you explain more detail?

  • Your simulation is rather unrealistic because you haven't connected any realistic load to "VF1".

Also keep in mind that you violate the 60V collector-base breakdown voltage and the 4V emitter-base breakdown voltage of MMBTA55. And it's questionable whether TINA-TI does this simulate properly.

What are you trying to do? Or is this only an academic question?

    Kai
