INA226: AD conversion error, waveform reduction distortion

Part Number: INA226

Deas:

We test INA226 performance, input voltage is sawtooth wave, voltage range is 1.68 to 3.38V, frequency is 1hz, we put the output to FPGA and  restore the waveform, but there is distortion, the waveform as below:

distorted waveform

AD output, I2C

  • Hi,

It appears that only bus voltage is being measured by INA226? These distortions circled are likely a result of a combination of the setting of the INA226, and how often the results are read by the FPGA. But we would need to know more details of the setup.

Can you share the INA226’s settings? May be a time-stamped log of the communication between FPGA and INA226? The other place I would check is if FPGA data update is free of bugs. For example, if it is clearing its previous value in its register before storing the next new value.

    Regards, Guang
