LM118QML: Replacement to LM118J-8/883

Hi Team,

Since the LM118J-8/883 is out of stocks, our customer searched for a similar device and found the JL118BPA. He would like to confirm if it is Form Fit Functionally the same with JL118BPA. The datasheet of the two devices are similar and both passed the Mil-Std-883 qualification. Can he use JL118BPA as replacement to LM118J-8/883?

Hey Danilo,

LM118J-8/883 is a QML device, JL118BPA is a JAN device. They have been tested using the same QML spec but some of the parameter measurements were relaxed for the JAN device. Namely the temperature coefficient of offset voltage.

There may be others in the datasheet.

If the customer is ok to accept the relaxed testing of the JAN device, they can substitute it. The design is similar but the testing is not.
