We are developing light communication devices which can transfer and receive data using Infrared, so IR LED and photodiode are used as transmitter and receiver in optical front ends. To achieve a high data rate link, the bandwidth of the optical channel should be as high as possible. Additionally, the photodiodes generate very low current on their leads by receiving IR from transmitter which is >2meter further.
We have purchased two “OPA855DSGEVM” from Mouser. In addition, we are using OPA855IDSG in our PCB which is going to be produced soon.
The problem: we have never seen any signal in the output of the receiving amplifier with the distance>1m also the bandwidth does not exceed 45MHz. How can we increase the bandwidth and the gain?
