INA240-Q1: accuracy question

Part Number: INA240-Q1

Dear team,

According to our datasheet Total Error Example, we get the total error eRSS. This total error includes all errors caused by chip itself, but we still need to consider the shunt resistor accuracy, right?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Sherry

  • Hi Sherry,

You’re correct that the examples in the data sheet include only errors from the chip itself, and shunt resistor needs to be included for system level accuracy calculations.

One way is to consider min/max similar to what the table appears to be doing. Another is to treat the tolerance (%) of the shunt as a gain error and roll into the total error calculation.

    Regards, Guang
